Geo-Political Query.
The democratically elected leader of one country swears to wipe another democracy off the map and murder every last one of its inhabitants; unabashedly aspires to create an empire out of neighboring sovereign states; admittedly funds groups that blow up women and children to send a message; enforces capital punishment against gays and other marginalized human beings, and corporaal punishment against women who show their face; and just announced he has enriched Uranium (the first step to a nuclear bomb).
What should a US president do? (Gaze at your navel, let Europeans appease, ruminate on past sins, fix blame instead of fix problem, are common answers.)

I think a US President should stop making those kinds of threats. :)
Oops, wanted to respond numerically:
a) The democratically elected leader of one country swears to wipe another democracy off the map and murder every last one of its inhabitants;
-- Bush hasn't sworn EVERY person's death, but certainly is responsible for approx 100k or so dead and who knows how many wounded?
b) unabashedly aspires to create an empire out of neighboring sovereign states;
-- I think the USA has done that and is expanding the empire. Or maybe it's Iran that has military bases all around the world?
c) admittedly funds groups that blow up women and children to send a message;
-- I don't think the CIA has ever killed or tortured women and children, except in Central and South America ... oh, and actually they have used Americans as un-willing experiment subjects as well.
d) enforces capital punishment against gays and other marginalized human beings, and corporaal punishment against women who show their face;
-- about 150 years ago the USA did allow all that stuff. I think in the South it's not legal, but it is somewhat accepted in areas. And I do think G.Bush ordered the killing of a child in Texas (15 yr old black child) when he was Governor.
e) and just announced he has enriched Uranium (the first step to a nuclear bomb).
-- I think rumors are that Bush is willing to USE the bomb against Iran, and that he has re-institute nuclear weapons development, and that he wants nuclear weapons in space, and he is continuing the anti-nuke 'star wars' (which could possibly include nuclear weapons from space).
-- Oh, almost forgot the depleted uranium ammo being used, too. Supposedly birth defects in Iraq are up drastically.
Wow, I thought maybe SOMEWHERE Bush might get off... Nope.
Last point -- I think America can't really look clearly at Iran/Iraq without considering how heavily involved the US was in the overthrow of Iran's fairly progressive government, as well as the years of CIA-backed military activity in that country.
that's totally non-responsive. You're an american, you're delaing with a nuclear Iran and the question is how do you deal? DO nothing? Something?

Which would all once again leave us with a nuclear armed Islamic Hegemon who has sworn over and over, in the teeth of harsh criticism, to kill every jew in Israel. But, hey "Bush Lied, People Died, Hi-Ho!"
